Leonard E. Pollack's Obituary
Mr. Leonard E. Pollack, age 81, died Monday, December 29, 2003 in Newaygo. He was born on August 15, 1922 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to Frank & Laura (Zoromski) Polak, and had resided in the area for most of his life. Mr. Pollack had worked at Anderson Meat Packing until retiring in 1973. He was a Veteran of the Army, having served during World War II. Mr. Pollack was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church of Newaygo, the VFW # 4249 of Newaygo, Polish Union, Pulaski Lodge, and the Polish Falcons. On July 11, 1942 he married the former Laura Palmer, and she preceded him in death on February 28, 1992. SURVIVORS include 5 sons, Anthony (Rose) Pollack of South Carolina, Larry (Beverly) Pollack of Muskegon, Ronald Pollack of Muskegon, John (Mary) Pollack of Muskegon, Timothy Pollack of Newaygo; 2 daughters, Judy LaPorte of Newaygo, Kathleen (Phillip, Jr.) Anderz of Muskegon; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and 1 brother, Chester (Dorothy) Pollack of Spring Lake. Mr. Pollack was also preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sisters. THE MASS OF REMEMBRANCE will be 11 AM Saturday at St. Bartholomew’s in Newaygo (599 Brooks St.) with Rev. Fr. Loc Trinh officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions to Hospice of Newaygo and American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
