Mr. LeRoy "Lee" Theodore Krause's Obituary
LeRoy left this world on Friday, April 13, 2012. LeRoy T. Krause was born in Chicago, IL, on April 2, 1924 to Otto and Dora (Geissler) Krause, now deceased. Survivors include his wife, Ursula of 47 years; a son, Tom L. (Sandi) Krause of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Heather (Troy) Foster, Candice Krause, Thomas and Nicolas Krause; 5 great-grandchildren, Bianca, Thad, Cassidy, Austin and Ashley; a brother, Albert E. (Ann) Krause of Algonquin, IL; a niece, Janet and 2 nephews, Steve and Jeffery. As a youngster, he was active in scouting and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Prior to entering the service, he attended ITT in Chicago. He entered the service in 1943 and served in Africa and Italy as a member of the 15th Air Force Fighter Command, stationed in Torremaggiore, Italy. During his time overseas, he had the opportunity to visit fifteen different countries, which resulted in a love of traveling. Upon his discharge, he took a part-time job selling waterless cookware – a temporary job which lasted over 60 years. He would spend the majority of that time representing the Vita Craft Corporation of Kansas City as the owner of Vita Craft of Michigan. At Northwestern University, he became a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a business fraternity. As a “hobby”, he spent more than forty years as a volunteer for the Miss America Program – especially the Miss Michigan Pageant in Muskegon and local pageants throughout Michigan. He was a 50-year member of the Moose Lodge; a lifetime member of Troy Highland Park Lodge #468 Masonic; a member of Sunrise Commandery #34 Knight Templar; the Alpena Shrine Club; the Elf Khurafeh Shrine Club; a past member of the Ossineke Lions Club; and a member of the Ossineke Order of Eagles. Lee and Ursula were residents and members of Lost Lake Woods Club in Lincoln, MI, for over 31 years prior to moving to Muskegon to be near family. His greatest love was his beloved family as he lived to be 88 years of age and able to enjoy them all. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2012 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100. VISITATION will be held one hour prior, 12-1 PM Friday.
