Lester C. Olsen's Obituary
Lester C. Olsen, age 86, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018. He was born on February 19, 1931 to Olaf and Mable (Hornauer) Olsen in Fruitport, MI. Prior to 1982, Les worked at Gardener Denver until they moved out of state. Les served his country in the U.S. Army. He then turned to his passion of farming, gardening, tractors and steam engines. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Chuck Olsen, Jerry (Illana) Olsen, Eric Olsen and Barb (Garry) Schwartz; 5 grandchildren, Derek (Autumn) Loveland, Jason (Megan) Olsen, Justin (Samantha) Olsen, Miranda Schwartz and Emily Schwartz; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Muriel Frederickson, Lois (Sherman) Moore, Shirley Schnick and Marianne (Ron) Cooper and former wife, Charlene Olsen. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn Ferris. A FUNERAL SERVICE will take place at 10:00AM, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor Adam Hubbartt officiating. VISITATION with the family will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8PM at the funeral home and 9-10AM prior to the service.
