Lewis Richard Koplen's Obituary
Mr. Lewis Richard Koplen, age 81, loving husband, father, and grandpa, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Aberdeen, SD on June 18, 1927 to Charles and Ethel (Smith) Koplen. Mr. Koplen was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. In 1958, he moved to Muskegon and was employed by Wise International for 30 years before retiring in 1988. Mr. Koplen was a long-time member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. On August 30, 1979, he married his wife of 29 years, Betty, and she survives him along with 3 daughters, Kristi (Chris) Fagan, Susan Bray and Nancy (Albert) Burton; 1 step-daughter, Pamela (Michael Hanophy) Goven; 8 grandchildren, Kelly, Zachary, David, Elizabeth, Matthew, Arlie, Ashley and Patrick; 1 great-granddaughter, Ava; 3 sisters, Doris (Russell) Kitchen, Ellen Huffman, and Geraldine Larsen; and he was the favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Arlene Koplen, in 1968; his parents; 1 brother and 5 sisters. SERVICES will be 11AM Thursday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. William Uetricht officiating. VISITATION will be 2-4PM & 6-8PM Wednesday at
