Libby Caroline Macario's Obituary
Libby “Caroline” Macario, age 93, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025. She was born on December 10, 1931, in Holton, MI to Frank and Mary (Meglic) Deblock. Libby graduated from Holton High School and went on to work for Sealed Power. She spent most of her time as a homemaker caring for her 3 children. Libby met the love of her life Eugene P. Macario at a baseball game. They married on April 23, 1955, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Libby loved spending time with her family making many memories and volunteering with the girl scouts. She was an avid baseball fan as well and loved going to the Detroit Tiger’s and Whitecaps games. She enjoyed cooking and spreading love through her food. When she wasn’t spending time with her family or watching baseball, Libby loved to be in the garden and feeding the animals, such as squirrels, birds and chipmunks. She was a devout member of St. Michael’s in Muskegon and enjoyed singing in the choir. Survivors include her 3 children, Gene S. (Maria) Macario, Rhonda (Harold) Miller, and Regina (Mark) Deater; 3 grandchildren, Angela (Peter) Niarhos, Vincent (Nichelle) Bennett and Jennette (Joshua) Serio; 11 great- grandchildren; sister Catherine Demars; and sister-in-law, Betty Deblock. Libby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; brothers, Frank Jr., and Joe; sisters, Mary, Rose, Frances, Annie, Josey and Dorthy. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 406 E. Savidge St., Spring Lake, MI 49456. Visitation with the family will be from 7-8 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441 with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. Libby will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
