Lila Mae Lutz's Obituary
Lila Mae Lutz, age 87, passed away in Cedar Springs, MI, on Friday, August 30, 2024. Lila was born in Conklin, MI on November 20, 1936, to Edwin and Thelma (Devenport) Zimmer. She graduated from Coopersville High School in 1955 and went on to work as a secretary for Ravenna Public Schools for many years before retirement. On August 11, 1956, she married George Lutz, and the two of them spent many wonderful years building a family together until he preceded her in death in 2013. Lila was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Conklin. Lila enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and tatting, and she loved to dance to polka music.
Lila will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters: Brenda (Keith) Tellkamp, Cindy (Dave) Reister, Denise Helsen, and Sharon (Roger) Stiver; six grandchildren: Andrew (Sarah) Reister, Kristine Reister, Justin Reister, Rod (Katie) Helsen, Brad (Kate) Helsen, and Dylan Stiver; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; two siblings: Don Zimmer and Joyce (Earl) Salminen; and sister in-law, Bev Zimmer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Thelma Zimmer; husband, George Lutz; brother, Dale Zimmer; and a beloved dog, Benji.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Lila at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1379 Harding St, Conklin, MI 49403. VISITATION will take place from 6-8 PM Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at The Ravenna Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 3570 Thomas St, Ravenna, MI, 49451, as well as an hour prior to the service at church.
