Lillian S. Dietz's Obituary
Lillian S. Dietz, age 95, passed away on January 3, 2025, in Muskegon. She was born in Detroit MI, to James and Lillian (Cavanaugh) King before moving to Muskegon with her family. Lillian graduated from Muskegon High School and worked as a bookkeeper for West Michigan Foundry Supply until her retirement. A member of Olivet Evangelical Free Church, Lillian enjoyed reading, needlepoint, and bowling. She also dedicated her time volunteering at the Muskegon Rescue Mission and spent over 20 years volunteering at Orchard View Elementary School. On May 28, 1955, she married James L. Dietz, and they enjoyed 63 years together until James preceded her in death in 2018. Lillian is survived by five children: David Dietz, Michael Dietz, Susan (Marcus) Link, Patrick Dietz, and Karen (Jay) Slicker; seven grandchildren, Traci Vanderzwaag, Robert Crosby, Anthony Link, Brandon Link, Samantha Slicker, Brittiny Slicker, and Kaitlin Slicker; and three great-grandchildren, Zaina Crosby, Raimi Crosby and Adla Crosby. She is also survived by her brother, Daniel King, and sister, Ruth Johnston. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Lillian will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 10, 2025, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI. Visitation with family will be from 5 PM to 7 PM on the evening prior, January 9, 2025, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
