Mrs. Lillian Marie Janowiak's Obituary
Lillian M. Janowiak, 89, passed away early Monday morning, October 6, 2014 in Muskegon. She was born April 15, 1925 to Robert L. and Esther M. (Yarrington) Rahn in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident of this area. Lillian worked for the Muskegon County Treasurer’s Office for many years, retiring in 1988, and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. She had been the secretary for the Muskegon Ostomy Association, the Women’s Victory League at Northway Lanes, was an avid Tiger fan, and enjoyed baking Coca-Cola cake. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Jackie (Clark) Langlois, Rae (Roger) DeHaan, Edward (Lilly) Janowiak, Donald (Cindy) Janowiak, all of Muskegon; 15 grandchildren, Scott, Chad, Kyle, Shannon, Nicole, Jessica, Jason, Patrick, Drew, Michelle, Deliah, Crystal and Rachelle, Clark II, and Hunter; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Donald “Pat” (Beverly) Rahn of Norton Shores, Frank (Jackie) Rahn of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Shirley Rahn of Muskegon. Lillian was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald J. Janowiak, Sr.; her parents; a great-grandson, Nolan DeHaan; her sister, Mary Town; brothers, Bob, George, Bill, Ray, and Louis Rahn. THE FUNERAL SERVICE for Mrs. Janowiak will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 9, at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, (231) 726-5210 with the Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz officiating. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum. VISITATION at the funeral home will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening.
