Lillie Van Hall's Obituary
Lillie Van Hall, age 89, of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Grand Pines Assisted Living Center. She was born November 28, 1932, in Rayville, LA to James Lonzo and Dora Bell (Rigsby) McCarty and married Henry Van Hall on December 29, 1950 at Spring Lake Church of Christ. Henry preceded her in death on June 23, 2010.
Lillie worked for thirty years at Grand Haven Public Schools in the food service department and retired in 1994. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, reading, the water, traveling different places, and most of all loved her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Russ (Fran) Van Hall, Kimber Lee Glenn and Denise (Eric) Edelmayer; eight grandchildren: Evan, Elyse (Jordan) Ruiter, Mallory, Morgan, Kellie (Brandon) Birchmeier, Philip, Elliot and Joshua; eleven great-grandchildren: Jordyn, Sadie, Hendrix, Boone, Erllee, Noah, Brody, Colin, Myla, Naomi and Jackson; two brothers, Robert (Ouida) McCarty and James (Bonnie) McCarty; brother-in-law, Charles (Marilyn) Van Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson, Christopher Glenn and great-grandson, Owen Vick.
A private funeral for Lillie will be held. Friends may meet the family from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services. Memorials to a charity of your choice are appreciated. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery.
