Linda Ann Barnes' Obituary
Mrs. Linda Ann Barnes, age 71, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on January 21, 1953 to Willard and Velma (Polanyi) Cramer. Linda spent her entire 30-year career as a nurse with Mercy Hospital, and she continued to be a caregiver to those she loved following her retirement. She was an active member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Linda enjoyed shopping, trips to the casino, and was a lover of animals, especially her grand-dogs and her cat, Callie. Most importantly, she loved her family deeply. She especially cherished spending time with her grandkids and attending their many events. On October 9, 1999, Linda married Russell N. Barnes in Muskegon, and he survives her along with two children, Stefani Puckett and Todd Basch; three grandchildren, Brittany (Kelli) Carrier, Andrew (Allison Schmidt) Puckett, and Zachary Basch; twin nephews, Jason and Jeffrey Rose; and dear friend of 64 years, Margo VanFossen. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Karen Rose. VISITATION for Linda will be held from 4-7 PM Friday, August 16, 2024 and from 10-11AM Saturday, August 17, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
