Rev. Linda June Bos' Obituary
Rev. Linda June Bos, age 62, died on July 30, 2018 in Rogers City, MI after living with Lewy Body Disease for several years. She was born May 8, 1956 to Jack and Marilyn (Jansen) Bos, Sr. in Virginia.
Linda will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her as kind and compassionate. Her boundless love for animals was surpassed only by her love for family, with special places in her heart for each of her nieces and nephews. Linda graduated from Fruitport High School and received her undergraduate degree from Hope College. She completed her M. Div and D. Min at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan.
After Ordination in 1985, Linda served at The Crystal Cathedral Congregation in Garden Grove as one of the Associate Ministers for 7 years. Throughout the next 20 years she celebrated interfaith spirituality as a Hospice Chaplain in Southern California. Linda and her spouse, Petra Verwijs, moved to MI in 2011.
Linda is survived by her spouse of 32 years, Petra Verwijs; her father, Jack Bos, Sr. of Grand Haven; her sister, Pam (Bryan) Archer of Muskegon, and children Jon (Kelly) Archer with Reece, Haddie, & Sylvie; and Matt (Lora) Archer; brother Jack (Debbie) Bos of Grand Haven, and children Katie & Shawn; sister Carole (Gary) Bos-Dusterwinkle Spring Lake and children Scott Dusterwinkle with Chase and Everett and Sean (Elisia) Dusterwinkle. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn.
A memorial service will be held in Fruitport at the Fruitport Congregational UCC (9 S. 8th Ave. Fruitport, MI 49415) on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 2:30pm.
