Linda Sue Bouwman's Obituary
Linda Sue Bouwman, age 81, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born September 30, 1943, in Muskegon to Andrew and Bertine (Lancaster) Bouwman and had been a lifelong resident. Linda graduated from Muskegon High School in 1961 and attended classes at Muskegon Business College. Right out of high school, she began her career at Budd’s Jewelers, followed by positions at Hosler’s Clothing Store and Harbor Industries. She then dedicated 30 years to Benson Drugs, where she worked as a pharmaceutical technician and secretary until her retirement. Linda had a deep love for reading, genealogy, and music. She sang with the Celebration Singers, Kindred Spirits, and numerous church choirs throughout the years. She was a longtime member of First Reformed Church in Muskegon and, more recently, attended Community United Methodist Church of North Muskegon. In addition to her passions, Linda generously volunteered for 15 years with the Muskegon Community Emergency Response Team. Linda is survived by her brother, Steven (John Mercer) Bouwman; special cousins: Sally Porter, Karen Shane, Jennifer Shane, Kelly Pabich, Darcey Dewey, and Dawn Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. According to Linda’s wishes, there will be no services.
