Linda Elenbaas' Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Elenbaas, a dedicated mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who left us on October 30, 2024, at 8:12 AM.
Linda was a cherished mother to her two children, Jessica Domingues (André; Tristan and Adam) and Justin Elenbaas (Lindsay; Cole, Cooper, and Halle). She found immense joy in being a grandmother, delighting in every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Ann McClain; her brother, Ed McClain; her sister, Cheri McClain-Beaty; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever hold her memory close. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert (Bob) Elenbaas; her father, Edward (Ed) McClain; and her sister, Kim McClain.
Linda’s unrelenting dedication and advocacy for children with autism spectrum disorder and their families profoundly impacted countless lives. As a teacher for children with autism, she nurtured and inspired her students to reach their fullest potential. Her work with the START project allowed her to train others in effective strategies, extending her influence beyond the classroom. Additionally, as the board president for the Autism Support of West Shore, she tirelessly advocated for resources and support, ensuring that families had the tools they needed to thrive. Linda's commitment to this cause was a testament to her compassionate nature and her desire to make a difference in the world.
Linda was known for her boundless love, kindness, and unwavering support. Her spirit and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, honoring the joy she brought into our lives.
