Linda L. Ford's Obituary
Linda L. Ford, age 84, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Spring Lake, MI. She was born January 29, 1937 in Muskegon to Gerald and Lillian (Gauthier) Brandt and lived most of her life in Muskegon County. She had lived in Bitely Michigan from 1998 until recently. On May 11, 1957, she married L. Duane Ford in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death on September 14, 2014. Linda worked as a payroll supervisor for E.H. Sheldon and American Seating Co. for 33 years and retired in 1998. She and her husband were also dairy farmers for many years. Linda was a longtime member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Baldwin, MI where she served as an Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed barrel racing and showing quarter horses and won many awards. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include her sister, Jacqueline A. Houseman of Muskegon; 2 brothers-in law and 3 sisters-in-law, Lloyd (Alice) Ford of Grand Rapids, Mary (Jerry) Anderson, Frances (Dan) Nelson, Luree (Lloyd) Huth, Jeffrey (Karen) Ford all of Bitely; many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly; and her special dog, Lacey. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 1 brother, Gerald Brandt, Jr, and 1 brother-in-law, Raymond Houseman. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 E. Summit Ave., Muskegon Heights, MI 49444, with the Rev. Fr. Douglas A. Braun presiding. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Monday at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442. A Scripture Service will be held 7:30 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
