Linda Sue Guiles' Obituary
Linda Sue Guiles, age 57, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 22, 2024, following a brief illness. She was born November 1, 1966, in Muskegon to Myron and Bonnie (Rust) Horton. Linda graduated from Holton High School as a Valedictorian and continued her education at Muskegon Community College and Grand Valley State University with a major in English. On June 10, 1993, she married her first love and best friend, Mark A. Guiles, in Muskegon and he survives her. Linda worked 22 years at Herman Miller prior to her retirement in 2021. She enjoyed boating, fishing, and going to the beach. Linda and Mark often traveled on weekends, either searching for a good Arts and Crafts show or just finding a new town to visit and it was always an adventure. She loved animals, specifically dogs the best, and would often help others find their lost dogs or help dogs find new homes. She will also be remembered as a U of M football fan and for volunteering at Oakridge Schools. But most of all, she was a devoted wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. SURVIVORS include her husband of 31 years, Mark; son, Hunter Guiles of Muskegon; brother, Richard (Pat) Horton of Fremont; sister, Sharon Bloom of Twin Lake; many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Bonnie Sue in 1995; and a brother-in-law, James Bloom. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at The Ravenna Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 3570 Thomas St., Ravenna, MI 49451 (231) 853-6511.
