Linda L. Lasser's Obituary
Linda L. Lasser, age 76, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Coopersville, MI. She was born on April 15, 1950, to Morris and Lucille (Rogers) Smedley in Muskegon, MI, where she remained a lifelong resident. She graduated from Oakridge High School, Class of 1968. Linda was a faithful servant of the Lord and a devoted, lifelong member of Turning Point Church, formerly known as Norton Shores Gospel Tabernacle. She dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a certified nurse’s aide with various nursing homes and private agencies throughout her career. With a kind and compassionate heart, Linda served her community for over 50 years before “retiring” in 2018. A hardworking mother, Linda always made sure her family was cared for and provided for. She was quiet yet strong in her determination, known for her calm nature and gentle, slow-to-anger spirit. Linda was truly a survivor whose strength and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her three children, Desiree (Scott) Miller, Kenneth (Laurie) Walasma and Anne Lasser; six grandchildren, Emma, Bryce, Caleb, Staci, Ryan and Kaylynn; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Terry Smedley and Jerry Smedley; three sisters, Donna (Thomas) Barnes, Janet (Ray) Lydons and Brenda Smedley; sister-in-law, Jeannie Smedley; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris (Lucille) Smedley; daughter, Tonya Walasma; brother, David Smedley; and two sisters, Nancy Smedley and Judy (Terry) Keenan. A Private Family Service will be held. Memorial Contributions in Linda’s honor can be directed to Baruch Senior Ministries through Fountain View Assisted Living.
