Linda L. Liddle's Obituary
Linda L. Liddle, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 24, 1938, to Carl and Lucille (Schlegel) Lundholm in Muskegon, MI and has remained a resident most her life. She graduated from Muskegon High School class of 1956. On April 19, 1958, she married the love of her life, Richard Liddle. Together they cherished 36 years full of love and laughter. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1994. She married Harry Messenger on July 11, 2006, in Traverse City, MI enjoying 11 years together. Linda had many career paths in her lifetime such as being a school librarian and church secretary to name a few. She also dedicated many years working in Christian education and worship and music at her church, which was her passion. Linda was a faithful and longtime active member of St. Luke’s and Harbor of Grace Lutheran churches and was a member of The Ladies of Hope making quilts to be distributed through the Mission for Area People and Lutheran World Relief. Linda loved camping and traveling to see friends and State capitols across the country. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, knitting, and crocheting. She was also blessed with a green thumb and took pride in her lavish flower garden. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Linda will always be remembered for her integrity, generosity and positive outlook on life. She was a tender and loving spirit who always cared for others. Linda will be missed dearly by the many who loved her. She is survived by her four children, Lynn Liddle-Drewiske, Janice Damrow, Brian Liddle and Craig (Lexi) Liddle; eight grandchildren, Kimberly (Nate), Caryn, Nichole, Jennifer, Nicholas (Amy), Jacklyn (Lance), Dale and Kyle (Emilia); four great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Abigail, Lauren and Ryder; step-children Ruth (Bob) and Rick (Jeannie); brother, Ken Lundholm; her favorite cat, Candy; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Liddle; brother, Carl (Betty) Lundholm; second husband, Harry Messenger; and sister-in-law, Donna Lundholm. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Harbor of Grace Lutheran Church, 1132 W. Southern Ave., Muskegon, MI 49441.
