Linda A. Rybicki's Obituary
Mrs. Linda Ann Rybicki, age 91 of Muskegon, MI passed away July 2, 2013 at home. She was born on February 28, 1922 in Cosenza, Italy, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Rosina (Misuraca) Ricucci. Linda had worked at the US Embassy in Naples as a secretary and stenographer where she met her husband, John, who was serving in the US Air Force, during WWII. They were married at Ascesion Catholic Church in Naples, Italy on September 24, 1945. She left her family in Italy to begin a new life in America. She sailed to America on the Vulcania and arrived on June 12, 1946 at Ellis Island in New York, New York. She became 1 of 23 Muskegon County new citizens on April 14, 1953, where she lived her entire life as a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muskegon Heights, MI. Linda is survived by 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Loretta (David) Joldersma of Muskegon, Josie Siegel of Muskegon, and Lorraine Rybicki of Grand Rapids; MI; 4 grandchildren all of Muskegon, Tracy (Nick) Powell, Roger (Allison) Siegel, Nicole (Robert) Segelstrom and Kristi (Mark) Beerman; 11 great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Gabrielle, Lauren, and Nicholas Powell, Madison and Kennedy Segelstrom, Trent, Taylor and Tristin Beerman, Scarlett and Alec Siegel; 4 nieces, Rosalie (Tony) Anderson of Freesoil, MI, Cynthia (Ray) Brown of Alto, MI, Ruth Ann Cavaness of Monroe, OH, and Vivian (Jim) Peck of Manistee, MI, 1 nephew, Gregory (Amanda) Rybicki of Grand Ledge, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 12, 1998; 2 brothers-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law all, of Freesoil, MI, Edward F. and Patsy A. Rybicki, Edmund A. and Sandra L. Rybicki; and 1 great-grandchild, baby Samuel. Linda loved her family and little children. She was a special lady and will be greatly missed. MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 8, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (150 E. Summit Ave.) with Rev. Fr. Antony Britto presiding. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at church in the Victor Miller Room. BURIAL will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
