Linda D. Walczak's Obituary
Linda D. Walczak, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 2, 1947, to Cecil and Eileen (Polhill) Eisnor in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, but eventually made her way to the states in 1969, and to Spring Lake, which has been home since 1990. On August 23, 2002, she married the love of her life, Edward Walczak in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Together they cherished 22 years full of love, laughter and endless adventures.
Linda (also known as Mom, Nanny and Linda Lou) was quite the fashionista. She had an uncanny ability to always look good, even in her worst moments. She loved her bling, and she had a flair for design. She was so grateful to be able to see three of her five grandchildren get married and to welcome two great grandchildren that warmed her heart like no others. Her beloved husband, Eddie built her dream house to enjoy in their final years together and she loved shopping and designing that home. If shopping was a sport, then she would have been inducted into the shopping hall of fame. She wanted a big house to hold her growing family. She was always up for a game of dominos (just make sure you don’t take too long to make your move). More than anything she loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was known for being very generous and always wanted to make sure everyone had what they needed (plus a little more). When giving gifts she’d always put in a disclaimer of, “Don’t expect this much next year.” If she didn’t like something, she had no problem verbalizing her opinion whether you wanted to hear it or not. Her bluntness is now an endearing memory. We love her and will miss her greatly.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ed Walczak; daughter, Tamara Fairfield; son, Jim (Karen) Fransted; five grandchildren, Christian (Kaitlin) Fransted, Josh (Jaidah) Fransted, Makenzie (Luke) Scharich, Nolan Fairfield and Brekken Fairfield; two great-grandchildren, Hudsyn and Tate Scharich with another baby girl on the way; brother, Don Eisnor; sister, Paula (John Shewfelt) Eisnor; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved extended family; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Theresa Eisnor. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2025, at The Lee Chapel Family Center of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
