Linda Louise Rafferty's Obituary
Mrs. Linda L. Rafferty, age 59, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at her home after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born February 10, 1948 in Muskegon to Walter and Rose (Romsek) Gawkowski. The former Linda Louise Gawkowski married Joseph J. Rafferty in Muskegon on July 18, 1970. Linda was employed at Krautheim Jewelers until retiring in 2006 due to illness. She was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church and was active with the Muskegon Catholic Central Rainbow Auction. SURVIVORS include: her husband, Joseph; 3 daughters, Katy Jo (Jason) Kohley of Fruitport, Kerrin Lynn (Alan) VanWashenova of Walled Lake, MI and Susan Marie Rafferty of Fruitport; 2 grandchildren, Alaina & Logan Kohley; her father, Walter E. Gawkowski, Sr. of Muskegon; 3 brothers, Peter (Becky) Gawkowski and Walter E. (Joan) Gawkowski, Jr. both of Muskegon and John (Susan) Gawkowski of Red Wood Shores, CA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Marie Gawkowski and her special aunt, Helen Romsek with whom she was a partner in the retail store “The Uncommon Touch”. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church. VISITATION: Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
