Mrs Linnea Margaret Markstrom's Obituary
Linnea Margaret Markstrom, age 92, passed away on March 4, 2014. She was born in LeRoy, MI on June 17, 1921 to Victor and Olga Johnson. She married Seth Markstrom on June 27, 1946. They were blessed with their daughter, Ingrid. Linnea was a longtime member of the Muskegon Viking Lodge, LeRoy Heritage Society and had attended Forest Park Covenant for over 50 years. She worked at Norge and retired from Kaydon Corporation. She enjoyed traveling to Sweden, bus trips and especially her bingo games. Linnea was an outgoing, persistent, caring mother, grandmother, wife and friend who will be deeply missed. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Ingrid (John) Pietsch; grandchildren, Amy and Matthew (Erin) Pietsch; 3 great-grandchildren Avalon, Isabelle and Tyler; one special god-daughter, Sharon Shaw; two nieces, Joyce and Kaye; nephew, Dan; and a host of nieces and nephews back in Sweden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Seth; 2 brothers and 1 sister. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11 AM on Saturday March 8, 2014 at Forest Park Covenant Church, 3815 Henry Street, with Rev Wally Coots officiating. VISITATION will be held on Friday from 4-7 pm at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Ave 231-726-5210 In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Viking Scholarship Fund, Forest Park Covenant Church or Harbor Hospice.
