Lionel Vincent Young's Obituary
Mr. Lionel V. “Bud” Young, age 85, passed away early Monday morning, September 7, 2009 at home. Mr. Young worked at CWC Textron for 41 years before retiring, and was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. He was awarded the Bronze Star, and was a member of the VFW Post #446. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Muskegon, and St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Baldwin. He loved to golf, enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Big Star Lake, and spending winters in Florida. First and foremost in his life, however, was his family. SURVIVORS include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy; 2 daughters, Carole (Phil) Betlejewski of Norton Shores, Cheryl Kelenske of Norton Shores; 4 grandchildren, Beth (Jon) Sander of Minneapolis, MN, David Betlejewski of Chicago, Jeff (Jennifer) Kelenske of Norton Shores, Jennfier Kelenske of Troy; 1 great-grandson, Jack Sander of Minneapolis; 1 sister, Beverly (Chuck) Devenport of Muskegon; brother-in-law, Edward (Barb) Hvizdos of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Fran Hvizdos of Temperance, MI; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Cora Young; 1 brother, LeRoy Young; 1 sister, Dorothy Southland. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Brown presiding. A time of gathering with the family will be from 5-8 PM Friday at
