Lisa L. Conklin's Obituary
Lisa L. Conklin, age 67, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 after a short but courageous battle with cancer at Mercy Hospital. She was born on March 2, 1952 to Alden and Marilyn (Veldman) Carlson in Muskegon. Lisa was a member of First Presbyterian Church and for many years was active at Forest Park Covenant Church. She was a deacon, sang in the choirs and played the bells. Prior to 2008, Lisa was Director of Materials Management for Mercy Health in Muskegon. Lisa had a passion for caring for others, gardening, decorating and being a wonderful host for family parties. On March 21, 1998, she married Leon Conklin and he survives her along with 3 children, Emily (Andy) Boucher, Nick Tisch and Jared Conklin; parents; siblings, Marilyn (Jessie) Singleton, Karen (Jeff) Bonin, Mark (Dorothy) Carlson, Keith Carlson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Emilyn. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Lisa 11:00 AM, Monday, September 30, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, 2577 Wickham Dr., with Rev. James B. Rausch officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. Burial will take place at Oakhurst Cemetery. MEMORIALS can be directed to the building funds of First Presbyterian Church or Forest Park Covenant Church.
