Lois A. Bush's Obituary
Lois A. Bush, age 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 28, 2023 surrounded by her grateful family. She was born on June 17, 1936 in Muskegon to Edward and Alice (VanderVelde) Westveer. Lois was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church of Muskegon for over 60 years. Her areas of ministries included (but not limited to): music (choir, soloist, women's groups), teaching GMG and other children's ministries, helping with the nursery, decorating the church and ministering to the Seniors. Lois served wherever she could be used and many people were encouraged by her many cards and hospitality. On September 2, 1955, she married Harold Bush and together celebrated 59 years of marriage before Harold preceded her in death on May 25, 2015. SURVIVORS include three children, Craig (Kimberlie) Bush, Faye (Dave) Haskins and Wanda Angus; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Arnold (Janet) Westveer of Holland, MI and Rev. Daniel (Shirley) Westveer of Muskegon; and brother-in-law, Ben Bush. Lois was also preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alice; and baby sister, Helen. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11 AM Monday, July 31, 2023 with Pastor Doug VanderMolen officiating at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. A private burial service for the family will take place in Norton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lois’ name to Bethel Baptist Church or the Child Evangelism Fellowship of Muskegon County (1274 Shettler Rd. Muskegon, MI 49444) would be appreciated.
