Lois A. Carlson's Obituary
Mrs. Lois A. Carlson, age 91, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 in Lansing, MI. She was born in Muskegon on February 28, 1924 to Harley and Ruth (Terpenning) Stough. Lois was an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Muskegon for many years, and enjoyed singing in their choir. She loved golfing and bowling, and enjoyed needlework. Lois worked at JC Penney in Muskegon for over 15 years, prior to retiring. On June 30, 1945 she married John Carlson, and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1988. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Paul (Jean) Carlson of E. Lansing, John (Brenda) Carlson of Colon, MI, Jan (Bob) Carlson-Hilliker of Brooklyn, MI and Karen Carlson (James Peeper) of Grand Ledge, MI; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and brother, Richard Stough of Muskegon. Lois was also preceded in death by her sister, Marion Hemphill. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 1PM Saturday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231)759-8565, with Rev. Leslie Lew officiating. VISITATION with the family will be two hours prior to the service, from 11-1 PM. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery.
