Mrs. Lois D. Gue's Obituary
Mrs. Lois Darlene Gue, age 70, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 20, 1943 in Muskegon to Lavern and Elvida (Bartel) Holy. Mrs. Gue worked for Mid-West Spring and Stamping for 10 years and was a member of the Fruitport Eagles. She enjoyed puzzles, bingo, crochet, crafts, reading magazines, and going to the casino. She also loved to camp and travel with family, loved to go to jam sessions at Deano’s Country Bar and Moorland Tavern, listen to her cousin Tammie Sue sing, and to take trips with the Senior Center through Oakridge Schools. On May 19, 1962 she married Douglas Gue in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2004. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Terry Gue of Muskegon, Debra (Randy Midkiff) Poholski of Hesperia, Betty (Brent) Hostetler, Charles (Pauline) Gue both of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; step-mother, Laura Holy of Twin Lake; 4 brothers, Lawrence “Skip” LaVasseur, Ronald (Sally) LaVasseur both of Muskegon, Andy Holy of Montague, Paul (Cheryl Rockey) Holy of Twin Lake; 2 sisters, Gina LeBeau of L’Anse, MI and Beth Holy of Twin Lake; sister-in-law, Betty Burrington; and a special aunt, Judy Twork of Holton. She was also preceded in death by her parents; step-father, George LaVasseur; daughter, Karman Kay Beeman; and 2 brothers. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Bob Whitlock officiating. Burial will take place in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service.
