Lois Herbert's Obituary
Mrs. Lois A. Herbert, age 79, passed away Tuesday evening, January 6, 2004 in Muskegon. She was born March 25, 1924 to Edward and Anna (Grienke) Schmiedeknecht in Claybanks, MI, and lived all of her life in the West Michigan area. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Prior to her marriage to William J. Herbert she worked at the Paper Mill. She also worked at the Import Tent at the mall, and she enjoyed arts, crafts, and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her husband William on May 23, 1979. SURVIVORS include 1 son, Larry Herbert of Grand Rapids; 2 grandchildren, Camen Herbert and Charles Schaub; 2 brothers, Donald Schmiedeknecht, Ervin (Vi) Schmiedeknecht, both of New Era; 1 sister, Leona (John) Uganski of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Schaub, and a son, Steven Edward. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Dennis L. Lassanske officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
