Mrs. Lois Katt's Obituary
Mrs. Lois E. Katt, age 83, of Spring Lake passed away November 11, 2012. She was born July 6, 1929 in Grand Haven to Louis and Gertrude (Koster) Wezeman.
Lois was a member of Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church and was a 1946 graduate of Grand Haven High School. She served Spring Lake Township as deputy treasurer for many years and also served one term as Treasurer. She worked at the Spring Lake District Library for many years as well. Lois enjoyed antiques, traveling, and reading, but most of all loved her family.
On November 3, 1950 she married Donald Katt in Spring Lake and after 62 years of marriage he survives her along with 3 children: Linda (Paul) LaMaire of Grand Haven, Pamela (Mike) Huggins of Kalamazoo, Leslie (Luann) Katt of Grand Rapids; 8 grandchildren: Jonathan (Jenny) LaMaire, Mark (Eva) LaMaire, Justin (Ashleigh) Katt, Taylor (Rachel) Katt, Lesley (Brandon) Rice, Jason (Jenn) Huggins, Miranda (Keith) Galliani and Nicholas (Jackie) Huggins; 9 great-grandchildren: Zoe and Miles LaMaire; Joshua, Jonathan, and Jedidiah Huggins; Kendall Galliani; Trenton, Camden, and Aurora Huggins. She is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law: Swannie Ruhlig and Marge DeHeer. She was preceded in death by her sister, Polly Wezeman.
A memorial service for Lois will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Jim VanderMeiden officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given in memory of Lois to World Renew (formerly Christian Reformed World Relief Committee) (www.crwrc.org), Love INC or Muskegon Rescue Mission.
