Lois Ann Kitchen's Obituary
Mrs. Lois A. Kitchen, age 83, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014. She was born on November 16, 1930 to Adam and Anna (Semelbauer) Kieft in Muskegon. She was a member of First Congregational Church. After graduating from Western Michigan University with a teaching degree, Lois worked for Muskegon, Fruitport and North Muskegon School systems throughout her career. For several years Lois enjoyed volunteering with the Cherry Guild at Hackley Hospital. On April 4, 1952 she married A. Eugene “Gene” Kitchen and he preceded her in death in 2006. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Tom (Kim) Kitchen and Paul (Pam) Kitchen; 3 grandchildren, Thomas (Mary) Kitchen II, Kristina Kitchen and Jennifer Kitchen. Lois was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Dick and brother-in-law, John Dick. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00am, Friday, August 22, 2014 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Timothy D. VanderHaar officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIAL to First Congregational Church or the Red Cross - Muskegon would be appreciated. BURIAL will take place at Norton Cemetery.
