Lois M. Lowery's Obituary
Lois M. Lowery, age 99, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 1, 1925, in Mansfield, TN, to Charlie and Goldie (Francisco) Patterson. She married the love of her life, Ernest “Tip” Lowery, on December 4, 1948, in Jackson, MS. Their 67 years of marriage were filled with love and laughter. In 1950, they moved to Michigan, where Lois spent the remainder of her life. Lois retired in 1982 after working for over 29 years at Brennanmen Hartshorn, where she was a dedicated and valued employee. She attended Muskegon Apostolic Tabernacle Church, where she served for many years. Lois had many passions, including sewing, embroidering, and quilting. She was known for her remarkable green thumb, which brought beauty to her home and garden. Her flower garden was a source of great joy, as she loved nurturing her blooms and admiring their beauty. Lois also enjoyed playing games, particularly BINGO, UNO, and Chinese checkers. Above all, Lois cherished spending time with her family and friends, creating memories that will forever be treasured. Her sweet southern hospitality, kindness, and caring spirit touched everyone she met, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Ken (Jeanine) Lowry; three grandchildren, James Patterson Jr., Todd (Trisha) Lowry and Amy (Jeff) Cribbins; five great-grandchildren, Jenna, Leah and Gage Lowry and Ryan and Zachary Cribbins; brother, Newman (Donna) Patterson; daughter-in-law, Joyce Patterson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Tip Lowery; son, James Patterson Sr.; two sisters, Floy Francisco and Vera Bursey; and three brothers, Charles Patterson, Lindell Patterson and Harvey Patterson. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
