David Schmidt Jr
To the family of Mrs. Lois McCaleb:
I remember with great appreciation and wonderful memories both Pastor & Mrs. McCaleb when they had been at First Baptist Church of North Tonawanda, NY. They were both greatly loved by the Schmidt family. We were privileged to have them come to North Tonawanda in the mid 1980's for several years. Their ministry together in the church was appreciated by the church family. (sadly, First Baptist Church closed their doors and was reopened by another church after 110+ years of ministry) I remember Mrs. McCaleb serving in the nursery during that time and also singing solos during the church services.
I was privileged to begin my music ministry under the ministry of Pastor McCaleb during his time as our Pastor. I was 20 years old and Pastor was a great mentor, giving me the opportunity to be involved in the church's music ministry. I also had the privilege of being their optician when they live in North Tonawanda during those years. Those were great years with wonderful memories. Memories I, and I know many others, will cherish for a lifetime. Although I hadn't heard from her in several years we had kept in touch even after they had moved from North Tonawanda. The McCalebs' left a legacy in every church they were privileged to serve in.
I know there is rejoicing in heaven in seeing her Savior, and her many friends and loved one who had been awaiting her in heaven. I remember many UNO card games with Pastor & Lois in the parsonage after church on Sunday evenings. Great times. "well done, good and faithful servant". Cherish every good thought & memory as a family. My thoughts and prayers are with each of your during this time.
We look forward to seeing Pastor & Lois again in heaven someday.
With great appreciation, good memories, & much sympathy,
David Schmidt Jr. (for the Schmidt Family)
Tonawanda, New York
