Lois Ruth Nagtzaam's Obituary
Lois Ruth Nagtzaam, age 93, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019, at her home. She was born April 10, 1926, in Grand Haven to George and Edna Vera (Adolfson) Weber, and married Donald Nagtzaam on May 25, 1945 in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2008.
Lois was a former member of Christ Community Church. She retired from Grand Haven Junior High School as secretary to the assistant principal. Her other interests included golf, reading, knitting, sewing and most of all spending time with her family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cindy (Toby) Westgate-Ross of Grand Haven; son Chuck (Nance Messer) Nagtzaam of Grand Haven; eight grandchildren: Matt (Erica) Westgate, Nate (Diana) Westgate, Marcus (Alicia) Westgate, Timothy Nagtzaam, Jamie (Darius Benjamin) Nagtzaam-Adams, Josh (Lindsey) Nagtzaam, Luke (Marcy) Nagtzaam, Zach (Adrianne) Nagtzaam; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Sue (Dave) Nagtzaam-Engel. She was preceded in death by a son Jerry Nagtzaam in 2002, and her brother, George Weber.
Per Lois’s request no formal services will be held. Memorials in Lois’s name may be directed to Hospice of North Ottawa Community. Services are entrusted to The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417.
