Lois P. Paterson's Obituary
Mrs. Lois P. Paterson, age 84, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at MHP Mercy Hospital. She was born January 14, 1928 in Nanticoke, PA to Oscar and Mary (Williams) Price. She married her husband of 59 years, Dr. Lester “Pat” Paterson in Philadelphia, PA on October 8, 1949. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2009. Lois was a Registered Nurse at Philadelphia General Hospital prior to moving to Muskegon in 1954. She volunteered for the Service League and at the Nearly New Shop. She was considered an expert knitter and shared her creations with family and friends. Lois was an avid golfer and was a long time member of Spring Lake Country Club. She also played in a bridge club and was a Brownie leader. Lois was formerly an active member of Central United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Beth (Ed) Taveirne of Lincolnshire, IL, Barbara (Bill) House of Greenville, MI, Laura (Steve) Toll of Tampa, FL and Christopher (Terri) Paterson of Twin Lake, MI; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Kennelly. A memorial service will be held at Spring Lake Country Club on Saturday, November 10, 2012, starting at 11:30 a.m. Those desiring an expression of sympathy are asked to consider, Shriners Hospitals for Children, 12502 Pine Dr., Tampa, FL 33612.
