Lois H. Pennell's Obituary
Mrs. Lois H. Pennell passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Poppen Residence. She was born on August 3, 1940 in Hersey, WI to Walter and Hazel (Thronson) Dahms and resided in the area most of her life. Lois was a member of Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church, and past member of the Fruitport Eagles. She enjoyed her family, country music, yard work and antiquing. Lois was a devoted wife, loving mother, and thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren. On January 16, 1962, she married Kenneth Pennell and he survives her along with three children, Bruce Pennell of Ravenna, Michael Pennell of Fruitport, Erin (Brett) McCleary of Ravenna; four grandchildren, Michael (Annette Stromberg) Pennell, Jacob (Melony Twork) Pennell, Zachary McCleary and Joshua McCleary; great granddaughter, Ezra Pennell; sister, Joyce Shoup; sister-in-law, Ethel Dahms; along with several nieces, nephews and their families. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Patricia Gauthier and Sally Tompkins; and brother, Walter “Tom” Dahms. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 2 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 1-2 PM. Memorial Contributions to the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
