Mrs. Lois Elaine Roach's Obituary
Mrs. Lois Elaine Roach, age 87, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in Fremont, MI. She was born in Muskegon, MI on May 12, 1926 to Burton and Carrie (Torrey) Shineldecker. Lois had worked as a bartender at several local bars before retiring in 1987. She was a loyal member of the Muskegon Moose Lodge #491, the Muskegon Eagles and an auxiliary VFW member. Lois enjoyed bowling, playing BINGO, traveling and loved her cats. On October 6, 1947, Lois married Dennis M. Roach who preceded her in death on November 6, 2013. She is survived by her son, Ronald (Linda) Cole; her granddaughter and caregiver, Michelle (Phil) Bohland and her niece and caregiver, Amanda (Allen) Gillespie. In addition to her husband, Lois was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Ronald Cole, Jr. and Anthony Cole; two sisters, Ruth Benigni and Pearl Keglovitz and 3 brothers, Burton, Leon and Raymond Shineldecker. According to Lois’ wishes, private family services will be held. Burial will take place in Lily Township Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Lois’ name may be made to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
