Lois Spencer's Obituary
Mrs. Lois Spencer, age 87, of Grand Haven passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017. She was born November 20, 1929 in Crockery Township to George and Gladys (Viebrock) Chittenden. On March 19, 1995 she married Clyde Spencer and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2010.
Lois was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was the director of the Seventh Day Adventist Church – Community Center for many years. She was an excellent baker, enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Joanne) Yost of Grand Haven; daughter-in-law, Deb (Robert) Hallada of Grand Haven; five grandchildren: Shawn (Sherrie) Yost, Elizabeth Yost, Ryan Yost, Jennifer Zattlin, Eric Zattlin; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Shoemake; brother, Leon (Mary) Chittenden; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Norman Yost in 2003; first husband, Jimmie Yost; five siblings: Adrian, Roy, Ruth, Evelyn and Dale.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 AM Monday, May 22, 2017 at The VanZantwick Chapel – Grand Haven (620 Washington Ave.) with Pastor Jonathan Walter officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Lois may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, Seventh Day Adventist Church – Community Center or Lakeshore Assisted Living.
