Lois Jean St. Amour's Obituary
Lois Jean St. Amour passed away on May 19, 2019 at the age of 89. Her husband, Raymond St. Amour, preceded her in death in January 2019.
Lois was born on January 3, 1930, the daughter of George and Jennie Carlson. She grew up and lived her life in the Muskegon area graduating from Muskegon High School. She married Kenneth Jansen in 1950. He passed away following surgical complications in 1952. In 1957 she met and married Raymond St. Amour.
Lois was proud of her Swedish heritage and celebrated by preparing a Swedish Smorgasbord every Christmas Eve. She was a talented cook and baker, preparing wonderful meals and baking all of the family's bread. Lois was known for her peanut brittle at Christmas time and delivering hot cross buns at Easter. Knitting and sewing were among her interests. She also enjoyed antiques, especially glassware, and for many years had booths at area antique malls. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were cherished and she bestowed upon them, along with her whole family, immense love and caring.
Surviving are daughters Gayle St. Amour, Cheryl (Tim) Arter, Pamela St. Amour; three grandchildren, Andrew (Jenna) Arter, Emily (Jon) Brickner, Jennifer (finance' Tim Coletta) Arter and four great grandchildren, Owen Arter, Oliver Arter, Mae Arter and Liam Brickner. Her brother Charles (Chuck) of Colorado, also survives.
