Lois L. Wood's Obituary
Mrs. Lois LaVerne Wood, age 91, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Muskegon. She was born in Ludington on July 15, 1928 to Leo and Ellen (Carr) Charland. On May 28, 1948, Lois married Elmer L. Wood, Jr. and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2007. Lois had worked for many years as a waitress at Doo Drop Inn prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Muskegon Area Amateur Radio Council and the Red Hatters “Rubies In Paradise”. Lois enjoyed gardening and crafting. She is survived by her children, Dawn Ames, Elmer L. Wood, III, and Kerry (Karla) Wood; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Jacqueline (Robert) Bringedahl and one brother-in-law, Victor Chandonnet. In addition to her husband, Elmer, Lois was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Chris Ames; brother, Robert Charland and sister, Phyllis Zimmer. SERVICES for Lois will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with VISITATION from 1-2 PM Saturday.
