Lois Ann Daniels' Obituary
Mrs. Lois Ann Daniels, age 83, went to be with her Lord Friday morning, December 18, 2009. She was born July 23, 1926 in Muskegon to Ralph and Lula (Andrews) Nelson. The Bluffton area was her home for most of her life. She loved being by the water and the sand dunes. Mrs. Daniels received her Master’s Degree in Library Science from Western Michigan University. Lois worked for the Muskegon Insurance Agency for 12 years before her employment as a librarian for the Muskegon Public School System. She worked for the school system for 10 years before retiring in 1991. Mrs. Daniels was a long-time member of Westwood Reformed Church, where she sang in the choir and was the church librarian. On December 27, 1947 she married Donald H. Daniels in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on October 4, 2004. She is survived by her 3 children, Susan (Duane) Schecter of Muskegon; Gregory (Sheila) Daniels of Grand Haven, and Donald N.(Rebecca) Daniels of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Tracy (Paul) Hofmann, Christopher (Jennifer) Schecter, Kelly Daniels, Eugene (Carrie) Daniels, Megan (Jesse) Bolinder, Jessica (William) Ogle, and Katy Daniels; 12 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Sofia, Kennedi, Madilyn, Isabella, Lydia, Kyanna, Jenna, Kara, Abigail, Sarah, and Hana; sister, Donna Johnson; sister-in-law, Helen Nelson; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Nelson; and a brother-in-law, Harry Johnson. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday at Westwood Reformed Church with Rev. Scott VanArendonk officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Monday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565. MEMORIALS to the Westwood Reformed Church Memorial Fund or the Muskegon Rescue Mission will be appreciated.
