Lois Lee Veltman's Obituary
Ms. Lois Lee Veltman, age 78, passed away at home surrounded by her family, Thursday morning, October 27, 2011. Lois was born August 3, 1933 in Muskegon to Henry W. and Alice Marie (Johnson) Veltman. Lois worked at Coles Bakery and K-Mart, retiring from K-Mart after 10 years. Lois enjoyed retirement in Florida with her life partner, Neil Faught, as a snowbird. She volunteered at the” Noah Project”, a no kill shelter in Muskegon. Lois enjoyed many adventures with her lifelong friend, Dee Stark. She also liked playing bingo, and loved estate sales. Lois was a member of the Muskegon Heights Eagles. She is survived by her step children, Jeffrey (Chris) Smith, and Lori Powers; children of her heart, Charles (Patricia) Faught of Muskegon, Gary (Debbie) Faught of Muskegon, Jean (Jessie) Slaughter of Twin Lake, Diane Parm of N. Muskegon, Roy (Debbie) Faught, Gerald (Emma) Faught , and Tammy Bassett all of Muskegon; 27 grandchildren; and many friends. Lois was preceded in death by her life partner Neil, and her parents. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Pastors Jeffrey Smith and Paula Reames co-officiating. VISITATION will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM) at the funeral home. INTERMENT will be in Norton Cemetery.
