Lonnie D. Hannahs' Obituary
Lonnie Dee Hannahs, age 80, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023. He was born August 13, 1943 in Grand Haven, MI to Donovan and Milola (Carrick) Hannahs. Lonnie graduated from Muskegon Heights High School and served his country in the United States Marine Corp Reserves. He retired from CWC Textron and after retirement worked as a carpenter, work that he took great pride in. Lonnie loved to garden, grow his gigantic tomato plants, and was well known for his famous refrigerator pickles. He enjoyed many visits with family to the Upper Peninsula, which included traditional Spring trips for smelt fishing. He also loved bargain shopping, playing the Lotto, and his daily trips to his favorite neighborhood store, Pic-N-Pac. He was also a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Lonnie is survived by two children: Scott (Marcy) Hannahs and Stacy (Jason) Peterson; seven grandchildren: Kalynn (Brett) Ames, Erick Hannahs, Makenna, Madalyn, Malaina, Mairyn, and Mason Peterson; great-grandson, Bennett Ames; three brothers: Richard (RuthAnn) Hannahs, Michael (Nancy) Hannahs, and Lorren (Jackie) Hannahs; and many nieces and nephews.
