Loraine C. Dixon's Obituary
Mrs. Loraine C. Dixon, age 92, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at her home in Muskegon. She was born in the Township of Maine, Wisconsin on April 6, 1927 to Lawrence and Idella (Kamps) Rhoden. Loraine enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and time at the lake. She loved family time and especially loved family craft day and sleepovers with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sisters. On September 30, 1948, Loraine married Archie J. Dixon in New London, Wisconsin and he preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by her children, Jon (Sharyl) Dixon, Marie (Eric) Essenberg, and Patrick (Faith) Dixon; nine grandchildren, Nicholas (Rebecca) Dixon, Mark (Drema) Dixon, Jay (Sarah) Dixon, Angela (John) Cisneros, Lisa (Paul) Hinze, Jeffrey (Julie) Dixon, Natasha (Shawn) Wilterdink, Mellissa (Matthew) Williams, and Patrick Dixon; 18 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild, four sisters, Rosalyn Oberstadt, Ruth (Dick) Simpson, Florence Scholl, and Cecilia (Pete) Dernbach; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Rhoden, Mary Rhoden and Beverly Rhoden; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, Loraine was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Gabriel Hinze; brothers, Harold (Rita) Rhoden, Robert Rhoden, William Rhoden, Jerry Rhoden, Larry Rhoden, Victor Rhoden; sisters, Marian (Ernest) Woeshnick, LaVonne (Orin) Sommers, and Beverly (Clifford) Myers; brothers-in-law, Ray Oberstadt, Butch Oppermann; sisters-in-law, Carol Wait and Florence Olmstead. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 at 12:00 PM with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
