Loretta "Peg" Forrest's Obituary
Mrs. Loretta J. “Peg” Forrest, age 93, met her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Coopersville, Michigan on March 13, 1931 to Ben John and Henrietta (VanZuthem) Harjer. After raising her four children, Peg was employed by Fruitport Community Schools prior to her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed music, gardening, and growing her own raspberries to make ‘the best’ homemade jam for her family. Most importantly, Peg enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On December 8, 1961, Peg married the love of her life, Bob Forrest, and he preceded her in death on December 15, 2015. She is survived by four children, Michael (Mary Catherine) Forrest, Karen (Michael) Ayers, Lori (Bill) Vanderweele, and Kurt Forrest; former daughter-in-law, Cathy Forrest; 11 grandchildren, Adam (Rachel Watson) Forrest, Elizabeth (Scott) Collyer, Allison (Chase) Wiseman, Waylon (Nickie) Carlson, Matthew (Brittany) Carlson, Nathan (Kathleen) Ayers, Kaitlyn (Jacob) Drelles, Braden Vanderweele, Holden (Julia) Vanderweele, Alex (fiancee, Julia Kwapiszewski) Forrest and Luke Forrest; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her precious kitty, Polly. In addition to her husband, Peg was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Austin Vanderweele; three sisters and nine brothers. A CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE will be held 1:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2024 at Discovering Christ Church (2330 Holton Rd., Muskegon, MI 49445) with Pastor Scott VanArendonk officiating.
