Loretta Jean Andreas' Obituary
Loretta Jean Andreas, age 73, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, was suddenly called home on August 12, 2011. She was born on May 7, 1938 to Charles and Virginia Less in Mt. Airy, N.C. and married Russell Andreas on December 24, 1956 in Alexandria, Virginia. Later they moved to Muskegon where Russell had a job waiting for him after serving four years in the Navy. In later years they moved to a small farm in Holton where they could enjoy the quiet and beauty of nature in the country. Russell preceded her in death December 1, 2001 after 45 years of marriage. Loretta was happiest being busy with her favorite hobbies: gardening, knitting, and cooking, but most of all her church and family were her biggest joys. There was always room for one more and she made everyone feel like part of the family. She also worked for many years at Brookhaven Medical Care Facility until her retirement. Loretta leaves behind her sons, Russell (Karen) Andreas, Steven Andreas and daughters, Carolyn Andreas, Lori (Steve) Lowery, Brenda Russell, and Amy Doucette; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Charles Less and his wife Millie of Humble, TX, her sister, Annette Hilling and her husband Charles of Palm Coast, FL, her sister Betty Holland of Berlin, MD, and her brother, Stanley Martin of Ocean City, MD. She is also survived by friends, Catherine Eslick and John Abair. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Wayne Andreas in 1983. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with her Pastor and close friend, Rev. Steven Sower officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday. MEMORIALS to the East Muskegon Church of God Building Fund will be appreciated.
