Lorraine (Lobello) Spaniola's Obituary
Mrs. Lorraine (Lobello) Spaniola, age 85, passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at Sanctuary at McAuley. She was born November 28, 1924 in Muskegon, MI to Carl and Maria (Castro) Lobello and lived in the area her entire life. On September 16, 1950, she married Paul W. Spaniola in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2001. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She enjoyed shopping, attending the horse races in Muskegon and taking long walks with her husband, Paul. She also enjoyed the dances at Moose Lodge when she was able to participate. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Tom Spaniola of Muskegon, Kathy (Jim) Briggs of Fruitport; 3 grandchildren, Katie (Shaun) Danicek of Fruitport, Tom Briggs of Buffalo, NY, Sarah Briggs-Sowa of Muskegon; 1 great-granddaughter, Emma Danicek; and special friend, Billie Leonard. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, Jimmy Lobello, and 2 sisters, Marian Lobello and Josephine Grenell. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2010 in Marian Chapel of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Julian Reginato presiding. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with Lorraine’s family will be 5-8 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass, 10-11 AM Friday in Marian Chapel. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
