Lorraine I. Dobb's Obituary
Lorraine I. Dobb, age 94, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018. She was born May 16, 1924 in Eveleth, MN, the only child of John and Sena (Palm) Kizer. Lorraine graduated from Muskegon High School in 1942. She married George R. Dobb on June 18, 1948, and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2003. Lorraine worked 13 years for Sealed Power Corp. and retired after 20 years with J.C. Penny’s. She was a life member of Crestwood United Methodist Church and belonged to the Rebekah Circle. She volunteered at the Frauenthal Center, was a member of two J.C. Penny’s Retiree’s Clubs, and also the Penny’s “Widows” Club. Lorraine loved to shop (especially for clothing), bake, entertain, crochet, knit, and read. SURVIVORS include 2 children: Sherri M. Dobb and her husband, Fred L. Bridges of Seattle, WA, Daniel J. Dobb of Norton Shores; 3 grandchildren: John, Syd, and Gracia Bridges; sister-in-law, Irene Dobb of Roosevelt Park; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son and daughter-in-law, Rick (Rose Ann) Dobb and a grandson, Charlie Bridges in 1989. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 20, 2018 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Jennifer Wheeler officiating. Memorials to Crestwood United Methodist Church will be appreciated.
