Lorraine J. DeBoer's Obituary
Lorraine June DeBoer, age 85, left this earth and into the arms of her Lord, Wednesday, April 6, 2011. She was born June 2, 1925 in Muskegon to Matthew and Edith (Dear) Sietsema and had been a life resident. On March 14, 1947 she married Ralph W. DeBoer in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2005. Lorraine was a wonderful mother and grandma. Her great joy was to be with her family and being involved with her grandchildren’s lives, whether it was sporting events or camping with them. She was a member of Unity Reformed Church and faithfully helped with the Prayer Ministry. Lorraine had also belonged to the Happy Wanderers Travel Trailer Club of the Mid West. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Dick (Sue) DeBoer of Twin Lake, Dave (Barb) DeBoer of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Ryan (Heather) DeBoer, Kerri (Doug) Newton, Emily (Sam) Wakefield, Derek (Marsha) DeBoer; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Allen (Agnes) Sietsema of California, Charles (Barb) Sietsema of Saginaw, MI; sister, Barbara Yorkson of Florida; and a brother-in-law, Gus Magers. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Magers. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Unity Reformed Church with Rev. James Bos and Rev. Paula Reames officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Monday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. MEMORIALS to Muskegon Area Christian Schools, the Christian Care Building Fund, or the Muskegon Rescue Mission will be appreciated.
