Lorretta Bessinger's Obituary
Mrs. Lorretta Bessinger, age 82, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at home. She was born October 7, 1931 in Hemlock, MI to William and Anna (Stenzel) Pretzer. On December 18, 1954 she married Roland Bessinger at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Hemlock.
For over 18 years she and her husband Roland owned the Bonanza Restaurant before retiring in 1995. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, but most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Roland, five children: Diane (Joel) Elam of Comstock Park, Craig (Shelley) Bessinger of Ferrysburg, Thomas (Beth) Bessinger of Muskegon, Paul (Natalie) Bessinger of Muskegon and Sandra Brown of Muskegon; twelve grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-step-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Irene (Wallace) Bronner; brother, Roland (Miriam) Pretzer. She was preceded in death by parents, William and Anna; three brothers: Clarence, Delbert, and Donald Pretzer; two sisters, Alice Newton and Viola Turgeon.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM July, 22, 2014 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Conradt officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Lorretta may be given to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
