Louis A. Glockzin Jr.'s Obituary
Louis A. Glockzin Jr., age 79, passed away at home on Saturday, August 13, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 11, 1943, to Louis and Flossie (Perry) Glockzin Sr. in Grand Haven, MI. He was a proud veteran serving his country in the U.S. Navy. While serving, he met the love of his life, Virginia Donellan. They married on June 9, 1962, in Maryland and cherished 33 years full of love and laughter. Louis was a dedicated employee of Dresser Inc, where he worked as a crane operator before becoming a security guard for Securitas. He was a man who appreciated the simple pleasures of life. Louis enjoyed listening to the oldies, watching his tv and when he was able driving to visit friends and family. He had a sweet tooth and was known by many as the “m&m” man! Above all things, he genuinely loved spending time with his family. His determined and kind-loving spirit will truly be missed. He is survived by his 5 children, Debra (Kevin) French, Louis (Karen) Glockzin III, Thomas (Elizabeth) Glockzin, Donna Glockzin and James Glockzin; 6 grandchildren, Brenda, Jeffrey, Leslie, Louis, Virginia and Victoria; great-granddaughter, Hailee; 2 brothers, Robert Glockzin and Fred (Bobbie) Glockzin; sister, Dianne Pasco; sister-in-law, Darlene Glockzin; brother-in-law, Theron Westerlund; “favorite” nephew, Michael (Cathy) Donellan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Virginia Glockzin; brother, Ken Glockzin; and sister, Margaret Westerlund. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at United Methodist Church of the Dunes, 717 Sheldon Rd., Grand Haven, MI 49417 with a visitation one-hour prior. A Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8:00PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
