Mr. Louis Raymond Lint's Obituary
Mr. Louis Raymond Lint, age 70, passed away Wednesday morning, July 27, 2016, following a fourteen-month battle with cancer, his son Josh and wife Debbie by his side. Lou was born July 9, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MI. Lou’s parents were Angus and Maudie (Shurlow) Lint. A 1964 graduate, letterman and band member of Blanchard High School. Growing up, Lou was a member of the Boys Scouts of America, Troop 649 of Blanchard, MI, becoming an Eagle Scout on July 1, 1964. He graduated from Central Michigan University in 1969, where he was a member of the PHI Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. Lou was on the Dean’s List at New England School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1974. He practiced law from 1975 until his retirement in 2015. On October 1, 1987 he was admitted to United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Louis was a solo practitioner with an emphasis on consumer rights. He found beauty, joy and contentment when he renewed his Faith and converted to Catholicism on April 19, 2014. On June 4, 2015, he married Debra Deyman Meehan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Dan Kennedy Council 706, Fraternal Order of Police, and a Founding Member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates. Lou enjoyed golfing, motorcycling, and his 25 year friendship with the “Running Group” completing two Chicago Marathons and participating in many local, state and national runs. He loved the lakeshore and time spent with friends and family. He was a humble, kind and accomplished man. He is survived by the loves of his life, wife, Debra Meehan and his son, Joshua Lint of Kalamazoo; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken Ave. with Rev. Fr. Michael Olson as presider. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM in Marian Chapel with Visitation following from 10 to 11 AM. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Journey of Faith at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
